The Catholic Archdiocese of Honiara will conduct a solemn Memorial Mass this Friday to honour the life of Pope Francis.
In a statement issued by the Catholic Archdiocese of Honiara on Wednesday invited Catholic members and members to the program.
“The Archdiocese of Honiara warmly invites all the faithful and members of the public to attend the program at the Holy Cross Cathedral on Friday, 25th April 2025.
“This solemn Memorial Mass is to honor of the life and enduring legacy of Pope Francis.”
The program commences at 1pm.
The Mass will be presided over by Archbishop Christopher Cardone, OP.
Wreaths are welcomed as a gesture of respect and remembrance.
“Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him,” the statement concluded.
Pope Francis was called to rest on Easter Monday following battling pneumonia, stroke and heart failure.
A funeral service is being planned for this Saturday in Vatican.
A number of church leaders and world leaders are expected to attend the funeral.
