A Malaysian man who reportedly went missing in the Shortland Islands has been found alive and safe.
Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast at the weekly police conference yesterday said police found the man on the same Island police believed he went missing from.
“The person is located safe and well and there were no further issues.”
The man in his 40’s was said to have travelled with a couple from Koliai village to Sivilua Island on June 11 during which the disappearance occurred.
“Police were informed about the missing man on June 12 but the following day police located him on the Island.”
The Malaysian is working at for a logging operation in the Shortlands.
He is now in Honiara.
