THE Malaita New Government for Fundamental Redirection (MNGFR) has reiterated that it is open for engagement with the National Government and international development partners to achieve the goals in its newly launched policy document.
Premier Martin Fini made the reiteration at the launching of the MNGFR Policy Translation Document in Auki last Friday.
He said the policy translation document signifies a new direction and new relationship with important stakeholders, including the National Government and development partners.
“Malaita New Government for Fundamental Redirection policy is open for dialogue and engagement with international development partners and the national government to achieve the objective of the policy,” Premier Fini said.
On this note, Premier Fini thanked the National Government for birthing a very important institution within its cabinet sub-committee – the Malaita Economic Development Initiative (MEDI) – to address the development issues of Malaita.
He said MEDI will play a key role in meditating and negotiating the aspirations in the policy with the National Government and development partners.
“Through MEDI, my new government will implement the national projects for Malaita that are stated in this policy.
“With the consultative and collective effort from the technical team, we managed to have the final document in time for this launching,” Premier Fini added.
Premier Fini highlighted that the four important policy redirections in the policy are connecting the Disconnected, Leadership, Politics and Development, Delivering project and programmes and Fundamental redirection and intervention for a double and transitional strategy.
