New 14-Day Advance Purchase Fares
Solomon Airlines has also launched a new 14-day advance purchase airfare on all domestic routes, offering savings of 20% off regular fares, for travel between 1 February and 15 December 2026.
Passengers can save by booking their travel early through Solomon Airlines website or Sales offices.
Stricter Rules coming for Changes, Cancellations and No-Shows to ‘Keep the Air Fair’
Solomon Airlines also said the airline will reluctantly be tightening its conditions related to changes, cancellations and particularly no-shows, following a growing trend of passengers holding seats on domestic scheduled services and not travelling.
“Unfortunately, this is happening more often, which is not fair to other passengers who are legitimately seeking available seats and yet are unable to book,” Commercial Manager John Wopereis said.Effective for tickets issued from 1 January 2026, changes on domestic fares will no longer be permitted on the day of departure. Changes or cancellations on day of ticketed departure and no-shows will result in loss of the airfare.
Any unused taxes will be refunded.
No change fee will apply for changes prior to day of departure, so if plans are changing, the airline encourages passengers to contact their agent or our Reservations or Sales teams at least the day prior to scheduled departure, to avoid any penalties.
The airline has also confirmed it will reduce the cancellation penalty for year-round airfares canceled 4 or more days prior to an SBD200 cancellation fee.
The current penalty of 25% of the airfare will remain for cancellations made between 1-3 days prior to departure.
“Obviously if there are schedule changes, we will take this into account, as we understand due to weather or operational reasons there can from time to time be impacts to our schedule that are outside of our control, and communication challenges in the Solomon Islands are also unavoidable at times,” Mr. Wopereis added.
“In general, we do advise that if travel plans are changing it is best for our passengers to contact our team or their agent as soon as possible to make alternative arrangements and hopefully to avoid any unnecessary penalties.”
Solomon Airlines is also in the process of advising travel agents in all markets of the fare condition changes which come into effect from 1 January 2026.
