A TOTAL of 13 pot plants owned by Solo Environ Beautification (SEB) have been vandalised on Tuesday night in East Honiara with all the newly planted Bougainvillea flowers stolen.
Most of the pot plants are located between the SIFF Academy to Solo Gas Refuel Station within the Burns Creek Area.
This disgraceful act has been described by the Board, Staff and Management of SEB as very disappointing, a SEB spokesperson.
“We were robbed of our good work off last night (Tuesday) after 13 pot plants along the highway between SIFF Academy and Solo Gas Station were destroyed.”
SEB has been working hard to beautify Honiara and such disrespectful act is not helpful, the spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Most of the concrete pot plants were placed along the highway early September ahead of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Meeting.
“However, early this morning, to our dismay most of the beautiful flowers were gone and some pot plants being thrown up-side down.
“Most of the SEB staff have been very sad, disappointed and discouraged to see all their hard work turned into a mess,” the spokesperson added.
Early this week, SEB had appealed for city residents to respect all the plants and not to remove them.
The call was issued after plants continue to go missing from the pot plants.
SEB continues to appeal for respect because such an act does not portray the surrounding communities where the incident occurred and Honiara as a whole.
“There has been a lot of work being put in to growing these flowers. So its good to have some respect,” the spokesperson concluded.
