THE chairman of the Honiara Band Association (HBA) assures live music band lovers in Honiara that they have plans to host more live concerts in the near future.
Benjamin Afuga, made the statements when acknowledging the great support and working together towards the recent HBA 4 NRH live concert, which he described as a successful campaign.
Mr Afuga encouraged the bands to get ready and prepare well so that when the time comes, they can join again.
However, he said the next concert will only encourage live bands to participate as there will also be competitions.
“The recent show is done purposely for a special cause where they also extend invitations to artists who also sing on tracks but the next one will only for live bands,” he said.
Mr Afuga said if any bands wants to participate should start and prepare and organise themselves ahead.
He said the next thing also is to do registrations of bands where each band would pay an amount of fees if it wants to join.
He added the association has a lot of plans and big objectives for live performing bands in Honiara especially as part of its revival initiatives.
However, he clarified that the Solomon Islands Music Association is there for all types of musicians in Solomon Islands whiles the HBA is only for live bands in Honiara.
The recent live band concert was organised in aid of the recent drug shortage at the National Referral Hospital and the National Medical Store.
