A TOTAL of 28 members of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (PSIPF) were farewelled yesterday after reaching their retirement age of 55.
The farewelled ceremony took place at the Rove Police headquarters.
Speaking to the media, Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast acknowledged the officers for their hard work during their time with the force.
“I just want to acknowledge twenty eight police officers who are taking their retirement,” he said.
“Today is a significant day for them and the organization. I would like to take this opportunity to wish them well for the future and thank them for their hard work and commitment they have given to the country and the Police force,” the Police boss said.
The retired officers ranked from constables to chief superintendents and most of them have served the force for more than 30 years.
