For extra sway towards participating in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in July, Netball Fiji officials have made a submission to the International Netball Federation (INF), its parent body.
Speaking to FBC Sports, Netball Fiji vice president Vivian Koster says this will run alongside what’s been put forward by FASANOC president Reg Sanday to the Games Committee.
“They (INF) are meeting in Los Angeles. It’s a regular meeting on their part this weekend and we want to send a submission to them. We have already got in touch with the Oceania president, Mrs Tina Brown and indicated to her and the rest of the Oceania membership that we want to be in Glasgow.”
Fiji is currently ranked at seventh place on the world standings and competing in the Commonwealth Games against higher ranked netball teams could help the Fiji Pearls improve its position.
