A TECHNICAL glitch had affected financial services provided by Bank South Pacific (BSP) branch in Auki, Malaita Province over the weekend.
The network system failure occurred from Thursday through to Friday and part of Saturday last week.
This had disrupted banking services affecting many customers.
Many customers, particularly those travelling into Auki from remote areas to withdraw cash and carry out essential financial transactions were most affected.
Teachers were among the hardest hit, with many unable to access their salaries on Thursday and Friday.
A good number of customers expressed frustration over the situation, saying they rely heavily on BSP for their daily financial needs.
A teacher from the eastern region of Malaita said the disruption caused significant inconvenience.
“It was a very frustrating experience. I had to stay overnight in Auki just waiting for the banking service to return to normal,” he said.
Affected customers have appealed to the BSP management to ensure such disruption are not happening in the future.
