WEST Guadalcanal Constituency Student Association over the weekend elected the new office bearers at Marara community high school, West Honiara.
The meeting began with words of prayer and a warm welcome by West Guadalcanal Constituency Student Association President Francis Hautara.
Both Solomon Islands National University (SINU) and the University of the South Pacific (USP) in country study students attended the meeting.
The meeting held purposely to discuss some important affairs of the Association like, the Students fee breakdown record 2016, Association Constitution, the Association membership and Contribution fee and the election of the new Office bearers.
The election is to select new staff for the office bearers to fill the vacant position that left behind by the outgoing students last year and for them new staff to continue implementing the west Guadalcanal Constituency Student Association to organize and active.
The election of the new office bearers were fairly in all wards of the Constituency and allowed old and new students to share and voice their opinions about the association.
According to the Association President Mr. Francis Hautara, out of $300,000.00 annual grant allocation for West Guadalcanal Constituency Student’s school fees, $209,000.00 allocated to 91 Solomon Islands National University (SINU) Students and $58,000.00 paid to University of the South Pacific (USP) students.
It was a second annual meeting for 2016 and the next meeting will be hold after confirming its date after the Easter break. All students are urged to attend the meeting, as it will be an important one.
