The Anglican Diocesan Bishop of Malaita Diocese Rt. Rev. Bishop Sam Sahu ordained a new priest last Sunday at Kelakwai village, Fiu parish Keava region in the Diocese of Malaita, Malaita Province.
During the ordination Bishop Sahu urged the newly ordained priest Fr. Bartholomew Moli to serve his people well.
“Today we come and witness your ordination and you become one of our new shepherds of the diocese.
“What a joy and what a responsibility as you take up your role as you serve in the priesthood ministry.
“In the world today was full of challenges, as you go along and do your duty as a priest you must need commitment and dedication to our almighty God.
“We need a high breed of leadership today; the church must decend through our leaders as you are one of them.”
He said, the church today is looking for priests who love the Bible and the sacrament.
“We must build up our own life before building other eople’s lifes so we need our commitments and spend most of our time in prayer.”
Bishop Sahu also added that today there is a lot of things happening such as, family separations, teennage pregnancy, drug and unlawful activities increases.
“And as you serve in this entire diocese you will face lots of opposition but be firm in your faith and move forward with god’s work and build your foundation on the word of God,” Bishop Sahu revealed.
The ordination was one of the biggest occasions that ever hosted at Fiu parish.
