The Solomon Islands National Broadband Infrastructure Project has successfully commissioned a new telecommunications site, Radoi (R43), situated in South New Georgia/Rendova Tetepari, within the Western Province.
This latest addition marks a significant milestone in expanding the country’s digital communication network, enhancing connectivity in remote areas of Solomon Islands.
This achievement is made possible through the collaborative support of government of the People’s Republic of China, implemented by China Harbour Engineering Company Limited and Huawei Technologies.
The Solomon Islands Ministry of Communication and Aviation has been instrumental in coordinating the project, ensuring alignment with national development priorities.
The new tower strengthens the national broadband network by improving signal coverage and network capacity.
It plays a crucial role in bridging the communication gap for communities living far from urban centers, allowing them to connect more easily with families, friends, and business contacts.
This enhanced connectivity fosters social inclusion, supports education and health services, and promotes economic activities throughout the Western Province.
The installation of the Radoi (R43) site is part of a broader effort to modernize Solomon Islands’ telecommunications landscape, bringing reliable internet and voice services to remote islands.
Residents can now enjoy more stable and faster communication links, reducing isolation and improving their quality of life through better access to information and communication technologies.
This new site symbolizes a vital step forward in Solomon Islands’ journey to fully realize the benefits of improved broadband infrastructure, made possible through international cooperation and dedicated national management.
