Minister of Home Affairs Hon. Isikeli Vave has thanked the National Hosting Authority (NHA) for acting as the custodians of the Solomon Islands National Institution of Sport (SINIS) over the past years.
Minister Vave made the statement in his remarks during the official handing over of SINIS on Friday at the SINIS conference room.
In his remarks he said, now that SINIS is handed over to the National Sport Council (NSC) he hopes NSC will take the program to new heights.
“I thank the National Hosting Authority for acting as custodian of this treasure and I look forward to the National Sports Council taking the program to new heights.
“I have confidence that the Board of the Solomon Islands National Sports Council will ensure we are working to prepare our athletes for Brisbane and beyond using the Pacific Games and Commonwealth Games as measures of improvement.”
As understood, SINIS is one of the only two institute of sport established in the Pacific.
As the institute (SINIS) is already handed over to the NSC, it will now be managed and looked after by the NSC.
