ALL Honiara-based schools are suspended their classes on Tuesday in light of the motion of no confidence.
This followed requests by all Honiara-based Education Providers, the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development said while issuing the directives.
The decision is to ensure the safety of students and staff during tomorrow’s parliament session.
Its understood, it has been a normal practise in Honiara, where classes are suspended during any motion of no confidence.
Since the decision was made all schools in Honiara have decided to skip class on Tuesday.
The much anticipated will be tabled and debated in Parliament Tuesday morning.
The motion was filed by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Central Honiara, Gordon Darcy Lilo.
As of Monday, the Jeremiah Manele has claimed a majority of the Members of Parliament (MP).
Some of the defected MPs have also rejoined the GNUT regime.
As a show of solidarity a group photo of about 28 MPs was taken yesterday at the Office of Prime Minister and Cabinet. Missing was Stanley Sofu, MP for East Kwaio and William Marau, MP for Ulawa/Ugi due to ill health.
GNUT is confident of defeating the motion if its debated on Tuesday.
