A team of five officials of the National Olympic Committee of Solomon Islands (NOCSI) will be attending the Oceania National Olympic Committee (ONOC) congress and annual general meeting.
They are President, Ronald Bei Talasasa VP International, Naoyuki Fujiyama Vice president Finance, Secretary General Melinda Avosa, Francis Manioru Athlete Commissioner and Lisa Wini.
Talasasa and Fujiyama have been invited by the IOC to attend the congress.
They will have the pleasure to meet up with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach who will be on his first orientation visit.
According to the NOCSI president the benefit of attending this meeting is for solidarity assistance, the IOC funds for Rio preparation, Commonwealth Funds for Gold Coast 2018 and our national program funds from ONOC and IOC.
The 2015 ONOC General Assembly is shaping up to be one of the biggest meetings hosted by ONOC and the Organisation of Sports Federation of Oceania (OSFO).
About 200 delegates have already registered for the Assembly which is being held in Fiji’s capital city of Suva at the recently reopened Grand Pacific Hotel.
Most of the recent meetings of ONOC have been held in Nadi, the location of the international airport.
The following meetings are being hosted from the 25th April to 3rd May.
