The Noro Women’s soccer league in Western Province is now underway.
This followed its official opening in Noro on Saturday 21st June 2025.
The opening ceremony featured team parade and followed by speeches.
Vice President of Noro Football Association Ishmael Kuvi in his speech said, the hosting of the competition is to develop football skills amongst the women.
Not only that but to promote peace, unity, security and equality.
He thanked the owners of the Tuna Park for allowing the league to be played there.
After the grand opening, two matches were played.
The first game was between Central Kohingo team against SI Ports team which was won by Central Kohingo by 1 goal to nil.
Second game was between Double A club team and Noro Base team where Noro Base thrashed Double A team with 18 unanswered goals.
The game was officiated by the senior referee Brenton Sualalu.
This league will continue up to July 2025.
