National Sport Council (NSC) is currently partnering with Buala Royal Academy to roll out its Fitness blo Iumi program in Buala Village.
‘Fitness Blo Iumi’ Program by the National Sports Council (NSC) brought energy and excitement to the Momorotu Playing Field in Buala Village over the weekend.
Partnering with Buala Royal Academy, the event got locals moving with fun fitness tests including the beep test, 60-second push-ups and sit-ups.
The program is all about the 4 F’s – Fun, Free, Friendly and Fitness! Its main aim is to increase physical activity levels of Solomon Islanders by engaging the community at large.
NSC Sports and Recreational Development Officer (SRDO) for Isabel Province, Carlson Hagemana, shared that more than 50 children aged 13 years and above attended the program.
“Education focused on the importance of staying active and building healthy habits. Participants were reminded of the rise in non-communicable diseases (NCDs), an average of six people die daily.
“Your health is your priority, if you want to live a long healthy life, you must eat healthy and stay active and fit,” said Hagemana.
Coach Sizah from Buala Royal Academy also expressed his gratitude, saying he was proud of the children and youth for their enthusiastic participation.
The day was filled with laughter, learning and lively movement, a true celebration of health and community spirit.
