National Training Unit (NTU) Director Clement Tito explains the reason for ensuring students undergo medical check-up is not about the medical fee, but it is about prevention.
Mr Tito in response to the concerns raised on the selection of the medical clinic said the Ministry has experienced a few avoidable cases in the past with students.
“It is not about the medical fee students pay, but it is about avoiding paying of thousands of dollars later to meet the cost of returning sick students or a dead body.”
He said as such, the Ministry wanted to ensure sponsored students are medically fit to undertake studies overseas.
He said the matter has already been clarified for students.
