The Oceania Hockey Federation (OHF) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, 24th May, in Nadi, Fiji.
All eight member nations were represented in person, reinforcing the strong commitment to regional collaboration and hockey development in Oceania.
A major outcome of the day was the unanimous adoption of a new constitution, passed during a Special General Meeting (SGM) held just prior to the AGM.
OHF would like to acknowledge Rachel Morrison (New Zealand) for leading the constitutional review, and Colin Murphy (Australia) for his support as a second reviewer.
The meeting also marked the end of Nihal Setivene’s term as OHF Vice President.
He was formally thanked by President Cam Vale for his leadership and dedication, especially his efforts in championing the needs of Island nations.
Nihal played a key role in delivering successful outcomes for the Solomon Islands during the 2023 Pacific Games.
Relvie Poilapa from Vanuatu was elected as the new Vice President. She brings a wealth of experience from her leadership roles across multiple organisations.
OHF also welcomed Andy Rowe and Baden Sharpe as newly elected board members.
To support good governance across the region, OHF staff delivered a governance workshop alongside the AGM.
Topics included governance health checks, the role of effective communication, and how to build strong leadership structures.
A highlight of the session was a keynote presentation from Julie McNeil of Aspire, who spoke about developing strong relationships with funding partners.
The workshop provided valuable tools for national leaders to take back to their own hockey communities.
