National Olympic Committee of Solomon Islands (NOCSI) has successfully marked the 2025 Olympics Day at the Sports Legacy house in Honiara.
The celebration is part of the world’s Olympics day celebration 2025. International Olympic Day, celebrated annually on June 23rd, However NOCSI decided to move the celebration from the actual date until it was successfully marked last week in Honiara.
The celebration is to commemorates the founding of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and promotes the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect.
It also encourages participation in sports and physical activity to promote a healthy lifestyle and foster unity among people worldwide.
According to NOCSI the celebration brought so much energy, fun and excitement with various sports being played by the participants including Archery, Athletics, Baseball, Floorball, Judo, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, etc.
On that note NOCSI has thanked the Federations who were part of the celebration, its board members, Athletes and coaches etc who spared their time and took part of the successful event.
“Massive thank you to the Federation Board Members, Athletes, Coaches and the NOCSI President and Board Members who turn up and celebrate this year’s Olympic Day at the Sports Legacy House. We look forward for the same participation and turn up next year.”
