THE public can now vote for their favourite queens online after the online voting was launched.
Solomon Host Pageant Director of Miss Solomon Islands pageant Joyce Konofilia confirmed to Solomon Star that the online voting for social media officially kicked off on Tuesday.
She explained this gives the opportunity for anyone and everyone in the social media to vote whom they like or want to be the winner for the social media award for 2017.
“Last year a lady from Malaita part West and Australia won the social media award, Sara Cave, Miss Szetu Enterprise.
“For this year we are not too sure, but at the moment according to our face book page, Contestant number four, Miss SINU, Hephzibah Karibule is now leading with more than 750 votes from social media voters and the second leads with more than 500 votes, contestant number three, Miss Greimie Ezra,” she added.
Miss Greimie Ezra is 19 years old and she is a student at USP, Honiara campus and she is yet to have any sponsor.
“So I appeal to any government stakeholders, private companies or any other organizations to come forward and render their support towards this beautiful young lady from Guadalcanal and Malaita Province.”
Ms Konofilia further mentioned that she like to encourage social media participant to help their favorite queen get most likes for the social media award.
“For now we only had two weeks left before the crowning of the Miss Solomon Islands at Coral Seas Resort so we give this week free for the girls so that they can do whatever they want and also we are giving them this free time for them to work on their speeches and this Sunday we’ll hold a Church service at Saint Barnabas Cathedral and so far I can see their confidence level now boosted with so much potential.”
Ms Konofilia has thanked and acknowledged the Prime Minister, Manasseh Sogavare and other parties that worked together with them, Ministry of Women youth and children Affairs, Young Women in Parliament, Coral Seas Resort and Solomon Airlines for their support, one way or the other.
