Opposition Leader Matthew Wale has acknowledged women for their contribution to the country’s economy.
He issued the statement during International Women’s Day on Tuesday.
“As we celebrate this year’s, International Women’s Day, I extend my warmest greetings and deepest appreciation to the women of Solomon Islands.
“Women are the backbone of our families, communities, churches, and economy.
“From our mothers and daughters to our teachers, nurses, market vendors, farmers, and leaders, your strength, resilience, and dedication continue to shape and sustain our nation.
“While we celebrate the achievements and contributions of women today, we must also acknowledge that much work remains to ensure equal opportunities, safety, and respect for every woman and girl across our islands.
As Opposition Leader, he reaffirmed his commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that empower women, strengthen their participation in leadership, and protect their rights and well-being.
“To all the women of our beloved Solomon Islands, thank you for your courage, sacrifice, and leadership.
“Today we celebrate you.
“Happy International Women’s Day,” he said on Tuesday.
