Following the devastation caused by tropical Cyclone Pam in Vanuatu over the weekend, the Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition Group Jeremiah Manele has joined others to convey his condolences to the Government and people of Vanuatu.
Mr Manele, in a letter to Vanuatu’s Prime Minister this week conveyed his sincere condolences on behalf of the Solomon Islands Parliamentary Opposition Group to those that lost their loved ones during the cyclone.
“It is with great sympathy to learn of the devastation and loss of lives caused by Cyclone Pam to the people and communities in Vanuatu over the last couple of days,” he said.
The Opposition Leader stated, the aftermath of the Cyclone would be costly especially when properties have been lost and vital infrastructures damaged.
“However, through the spirit of tolerance, perseverance and support from international stakeholders; it is our prayer that the Government and people of Vanuatu would be able to swiftly recover from the tragedy,” Mr Manele said.
