Solomon Islands international John Orobulu has once again showcased his prolific goal-scoring ability, securing yet another Golden Boot award, this time at the 2025 Extra Battle of the Giants (BOG) tournament.
Despite Rewa FC’s 2-1 loss to hosts Labasa FA in Sunday’s grand final, the in-form striker finished as joint top scorer alongside Ba FA’s Etonia Dogalau, with both players netting four goals.
Speaking to Star Sports after the match, Orobulu said he was proud of the achievement despite the team falling short in the final.
“I thank God because through Him I was able to win this award, and it proves that all the hard work has finally paid off. I also thank my teammates for their efforts whether we win or lose, it’s part of the game, but overall I’m happy and proud to receive this award,” he said.
With the BOG now behind them, Orobulu’s focus turns back to the Extra Premier League, where Rewa currently sits at the top of the table.
“Now that the BOG is over, we’re looking forward to the league resuming. We’ll work on our mistakes and aim to maintain our lead,” he added.
Fellow Solomon Islander and Rewa goalkeeper James Do’oro also enjoyed an impressive tournament, conceding only two goals throughout the competition.
Both players will now look to carry their strong form into the league campaign.
