OUR Party has reaffirmed its full support for the decision of the Hon. Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele regarding the recent Cabinet reshuffle involving two senior Ministers.
Our Party Secretariat in a statement issued on Wednesday said, it recognizes and respects that this decision falls squarely within the constitutional mandate of the Prime Minister as Head of the Executive.
The Ministers reassigned are highly capable leaders with the experience, capacity, and skills necessary to drive strong performance in their new portfolios, the statement added.
OUR Party has every confidence that they will continue to deliver on government priorities and address the pressing needs of our people.
The Prime Minister’s decision reflects his determination to ensure that cabinet policies are implemented effectively and without delay, the statement said.
“This reshuffle strengthens government’s ability to respond decisively to the social, economic, and political challenges facing Solomon Islands.”
OUR Party said it is deeply concerned about unfounded claims being circulated by certain media outlets alleging that SBD 3 million was paid to six MPs in connection with the reshuffle.
“These allegations are baseless, irresponsible, and harmful to public confidence.
“We call on media organizations and individuals making such claims to act responsibly. If these allegations are true, they must name the six MPs involved and identify the source of the alleged payments.
“Failure to do so only confirms that the public has been deliberately misled. Those responsible for spreading such misinformation owe the people of this country a public apology.”
The Government of National Unity and Transformation (GNUT) Executive is treating these allegations with utmost seriousness and will thoroughly investigate the matter, the statement said.
OUR Party also calls on any individual with credible evidence to come forward and assist in establishing the truth.
“OUR Party calls on the Review Committee, under the leadership of Hon. Trevor Manemahaga, Minister of Finance and Treasury, to fast-track its review of Sufferance Wharf. This critical infrastructure must be assessed in terms of its economic value, social benefits, and national security implications for Solomon Islands.
“OUR Party stands firmly behind the leadership of Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele. We reaffirm that Solomon Islands’ sovereignty and security are non-negotiable. Solomon Islands is not for sale, and OUR Party will continue to safeguard the national interest against destabilizing agendas.
“OUR Party remains committed to supporting the Prime Minister, strengthening governance, and promoting national stability.
“We urge the media and the public to refrain from spreading misinformation and instead foster unity, transparency, and responsible democratic dialogue,” the Party Secretariat concluded.
