Panatina Community High School and White River High School are the champions of the recently held Easter School Rugby 7 tournament which came to an end on Tuesday.
Panatina community high school snatched the senior category top prize after defeating Honiara High in the grand finals while White River grabbed the junior category first prize following an impressive finish against finalist rival Mbokonavera.
Panatina once again prove their dominance by retaining their top spot and walked away with $1200 cash prize, followed by Honiara High School in second place who got $800 cash prize.
The third prize recipient was White River school who walked away with $600 and Selwyn College on fourth place with $400.
For the junior category, White River was awarded the first prize of $1100, followed by Mbokonavera in second place with $800, last year’s champions Selwyn College was on third place with $600 and St John got the fourth prize of $400.
The final day of the tournament was very intense as teams battle it out for the top prize in both categories, it was revealed.
A sellout crowd turned up to witness the finals and stayed on even when the rain lashed down during the two grand finals.
Organizers of the tournament would like to thank all participating schools for their efforts and commitment during the tournament and urge everyone to prepare for the upcoming Credit Corporation High School 15s competition which is scheduled to kick off next weekend.
