Former Guadalcanal premier Stephen Panga blamed the Guadalcanal provincial speaker Able Arambola for being responsible for the whole province’s political impasse.
He alleged that it was Arambola that was responsible for GP political impasse since 2012.
“The issue of political impasse in Guadalcanal province will continue if the provincial speaker does not remain neutral.”
He said that the his executive while in power were unhappy with his decisions and even yesterday to declare the Anthony Veke to become new premier for Guadalcanal province.
“We are not happy with the speaker’s decision to quickly declare premiership victory for Honourable Veke.
“The reason is that there was no formal instruction from the high court decision that we have taken up last months, but then the speaker decided to declare Veke as premier.
“This situation will not solve our political issue as Honourable Arambola does not remain neutral in such issues.
“His post is the most respected post, and we members expected him to remain neutral.
“We have seen him as the main cause of the political impasse here in the provincial assembly.”
Provincial speaker Arambola when contacted yesterday refused to comment.
But the newly declared Premier Anthony Veke said that the speaker has done the declaration according to the province’s standing orders.
“The speaker did the declaration according to the provincial assembly’s standing orders”.
The Guadalcanal Provincial government will dissolve on October this year and election is expected to be held on December.
