The Solomon Islands National Paralympics committee is in an intensive preparatory mode for the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea [PNG] this year.
The games start July 4 and ends on the 18th.
The Paralympics team is one of the sporting groups earmarked to take part in the games.
Head coach Fa’amoana Topue said the team is undergoing training particularly on power lifting, wheel chair basketball and athletic.
He said the Paralympics group is a separate group which will join the pacific games for the first time.
“Paralympics is a federation that allows handicap people to play some kinds of sports facilitated for that particular group.”
