THE election petition case against Member of Parliament (MP) for Shortlands, Junior Isikeli Vave, has been dismissed.
Deputy Chief Justice Rex Faukona had yesterday dismissed the petition on Monday after ruling in favour of Vave.
His lawyer Billy Titiulu confirmed late Monday that the petition was struck off all 18 allegations of bribery resulting in the dismissal of the petition.
The Petition was filed by Christopher Laore and Silverio Ilaha Lepe after they lost the joint election in April last year.
During the trial, the petitioners presented 21 witnesses to support their case before DCJ Faukona.
MP Vave intended to call over 40 witnesses.
However, at the close of the petitioners’ case, MP Vave’ lawyer made an application to strike out the petition.
The petitioners are represented by Gregory Muaki of Muaki Legal Practice & Consultancy represents the petitioners, while MP Vave is represented by Billy Titiulu of Pacific Lawyers.
