Prime Minister (PM) Jeremiah Manele has acknowledged South Pacific Oil Limited (SPOL) as the main fuel supplier in supporting two important events hosted by Solomon Islands this week and next month.
In his speech on Monday during the handing over of new 27 GMW SUVs Prime Minister Manele thanked the Board and Management of SPOL for their sponsorship in supplying fuel for the Pacific Water and Wastewater Ministers’ Meeting currently under this week in Honiara and the upcoming 54th Pacific Island Forum Leaders’ Meeting.
“I would like to specifically thank the board and management of SPOL for agreeing to be the sole sponsor of fuel for the SIG fleets servicing the Pacific Water and Wastewater Ministers’ Meeting and the 54th Pacific Island Forum Leaders’ Meeting.”
He said, SPOL has already personalized its Point Cruise refueling station solely to support the SIG fleets for these important regional meetings.
Prime Minister Manele soon after the vehicles were released from the Ports on Saturday the vehicles were refueled by SPOL.
“All 27 vehicles have already been filled up at the SPOL refueling station.
“Hence, I acknowledge with sincere appreciation the many hands and brains that have worked overtime to ensure we can do this handing-over ceremony this afternoon (Monday),” he said early this week.
A total of 40 vehicles have been procured from China jointly funded by the Chinese Government and the Solomon Islands Government (SIG).
