Prime Minister (PM) Manasseh Sogavare has reiterated during the opening of the Members of Parliament’s (MP) induction program that MPs will become better in their performance after going through series of their induction session.
Speaking during the opening of the induction program at the Heritage Park Hotel early last week, PM said that his clear portrayal of Solomon Islands being operated on what he called the Mamaloni Approach will further enlighten MPs to know better of their roles and how to make good decisions.
“The purpose of the program is to equip Honorable Members to be better Members of Parliament,” the PM stated.
The PM further stated that through the induction program MPs will become better, as professionals and specialists.
He added that MPs will be professionals and specialists as they will associated with a corporate culture or the private and sector business.
Sogavare continued by saying that corporate systems and practices are now part and parcel of the public sector, because they will certainly improve public sectors performance that will have huge positive impacts to the government.
“Granted that both the private and public sectors serve different ends, one profit, the other service, increasingly there is this heightened acceptance that the corporate way of doing things delivers better returns and thus justifies also its use in the public sector,” the PM stated.
The PM summed up his remarks by saying that the induction programs will surely improve MPs as knowledgeable and consistent people to their attendant roles of lawmaking and God fearing credible leaders.
