Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele, MP, delivered the keynote address at the opening of the One-Day Global Crusade Leadership Summit at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Lawson Tama on Friday morning.
The Summit was jointly organised by the ‘Global Crusade With Kumuyi Global Network’ in collaboration with the ‘Solomon Islands Full Gospel Association.’
Prime Minister Manele acknowledged Dr. and Evangelist William Kumuyi for choosing the Solomon Islands as the host for this summit, recognizing this as a clear manifestation of God’s sovereign plan.
Reflecting on the Church’s historic and foundational role, the Prime Minister said, long before earthly governments were established, the Church, through faithful missionaries was God’s instrument in sowing seeds of education, literacy, and godly principles of governance across our islands.
In places where government’s hand was yet to reach, the Church faithfully ministered by teaching, healing, reconciling, and restoring communities, turning the tide of tribal conflict into a testimony of peace and unity under Christ.
Today, the Church continues to be a beacon of hope and transformation, operating many of the nation’s schools as living testimonies of faith-based stewardship.
The government envisions expanding this divine model of partnership into sectors such as health, rural development, and peace-building to further the work of the Kingdom here on earth, stressed the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Manele extolled the Church as the Solomon Islands’ greatest social network and moral compass, describing it as the pillar upon which the nation’s spiritual and social fabric is woven.
The Government of National Unity and Transformation (GNUT) deeply honors this sacred role and has enshrined the Church at the heart of its development vision, as guided by the Policy Redirection Framework and stewarded through the Ministry of Traditional Governance, Peace, and Ecclesiastical Affairs (MTGPEA).
He emphasised, that true prosperity is not measured solely by material wealth or GDP, but by the fruits of the Spirit such as peace, reconciliation, integrity, and steadfast faith in God.
Prime Minister Manele further announced key initiatives to strengthen the Church-State partnership, including the establishment of an annual Church-Government Summit, a thorough review and revitalization of the Church-State Partnership Framework, and the integration of faith-based principles into national peace and development programs.
