Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has made a special visit to the Youth@Work office In Art Gallery on Wednesday.
The visit which was accompanied by officials from the government department was conducted based on a request by the organisation.
In his brief visit, PM Sogavare was introduced to certain programs under the Youth@Work project, and its divisions.
Youth@Work coordinator Sandra Bartlett stated that the visit was the first ever and big visit made by national leaders like the Prime Minister himself in which they were honored to have him.
“We are honored that we have his humble visit to our office. This is the first ever visit we had from our national leaders.
“We are looking forward to work closely with the government with our programs.”
Youth@Work was an initiative implemented by the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) and co-funded by the Solomon Islands Government and SPC to empower, and inspire, youths to live a positive living in communities.
It was initiated in 2012, to work along with Solomon Islands youths.
The program was now in phase 6 since its initiative with 500 youths trained each year.
