Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has financially supported the Catholic owned San Isidro centre in Aruligo, Northwest Guadalcanal with $497,357 to ensure the country’s deaf and mute students can learn trade and life skills.
This was revealed during the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) hearing into the 2016 supplementary budget 2017 yesterday.
Delegation from PMO revealed in figures before the PAC members that $497,357 was paid to San Isidro Catholic School to help the institution build two new dormitories.
They said the payment was made recently so they cannot tell how far the progress of work on the ground has reach.
However, PMO said they only want the school to provide reports of how the fund has been spent on their work, once the money is exhausted.
