POLICE Commissioner Frank Prendergast has thanked the general public for their cooperation during the long Easter break.
He highlighted this during the weekly press conference on Thursday.
The Police Commissioner thanked the public for their high level of cooperation especially with the Police operations that were conducted throughout the Easter weekend.
“I would like to thank members of the public for their cooperation during the recent Easter break and for their support towards Police operations.
“It was a relatively quiet Easter and people enjoyed themselves,” he added.
Apart from many alcohol related incidents, the Easter was very quiet.
When visiting all the Police stations in Honiara, the officers informed him that the Easter was very peaceful.
“I visited all the stations on Easter Sunday, and the officers are reporting a very quiet Easter,” he said.
He added, it is great that the people are enjoying themselves and they are very supportive in the police operations.
This was Mr Prendergast’s first Easter in Solomon Islands since taking up the post last year.
