THE Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has expressed gratitude with the behavior of the general public in Honiara during the two weeks long Solomon Games that officially closed on Sunday.
Police commander for Honiara city, Vincent U’upwe told the Solomon Star yesterday that the general behavior of the public during the course of the events was welcoming.
“I want to take this time to thank the general public for their good behavior shown during the event that was pleasing compared to past events,” Commander U’upwe said.
He said that the crowd turned up for the soccer semis and grand-finals at Lawson Tama was very big but again, they behave very well.
He said his officers who have been monitoring the games have enjoyed the participation and the way general public is behaving.
“If only, Solomon Islands can keep this standard of support towards sports event hosted in country it would be very nice,” Mr U’upwe said.
“Let us embrace such peaceful supporting and build on from here as we ready to host the Pacific games in 2023.”
