The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is stepping up its security arrangement in Noro and Munda ahead of the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting (PIFLM) retreat in Noro on Thursday.
Operation Commander in Western Province, Supervising Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operations Mr. Mathias Lenialu said police continue to boost their high visibility, cleanup campaign, and zero tolerance in Noro and Munda with the support from officers in Honiara and Taro.
Supervising DC Mr. Lenialu said, “Police advise the public to uphold the law of our country, promote peace, and show our identity that Solomon Islands is a safe and peaceful nation when our regional leaders are here in Noro for a day retreat next week.”
Mr. Lenialu said, “The campaign focuses mainly on rolling out messages to our citizens that our country will be hosting some major events, especially in the country.
He said additional manpower from Gizo police already arrived at Noro to boost operation and support the ongoing awareness, high visibility, zero tolerance, and cleanup operation in Noro and Munda.
Operation Commander Mr. Lenialu said, the continued awareness campaign with the increasing numbers of officers on the ground really shows the positive operational coordination.
This collaborative effort aims to ensure the safety and security of all participants during the upcoming events.
Furthermore, Mr. Lenialu emphasized the importance of community engagement in fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility among our communities.
