Work on constructing new stretch of seawall and improving parking space along the Point Cruz wharf area is making progress.
Work started fewl months ago thanks to Solomon Ports. A section of the seawall and parking area located opposite the Millennium Terminal is now complete.
Work by project team is still underway and is likely to extend the seawall and upgrade the parking area as well.
The improvement project aims to protect the wharf area seafront from the threats of coastal erosion and high swells during bad weather.
The project also provides a spacious area for vehicles to park when accessing the wharves to do loading and unloading.
Members of the public have expressed satisfaction with the work undertaken by Ports to improve services at the wharf area.
Meanwhile, members of the public continue to enjoy the services offered at the Millennium Terminal since its opening.
The terminal had offered a space for members of the public to take a rest and do their last minute shopping. It also provided the public and seafarers to buy some food and enjoy their meals.
