A CONCERNED Guadalcanal man has called on Premier Francis Sade to settle overdue land issues on Guadalcanal rather than backing up the Prime Minister to host the Pacific Games 2023.
Speaking in anonymity, the man said Guadalcanal has a lot of issues Hon Sade needs to address.
“As a Guadalcanal, I am so concerned about the affairs and wellbeing of my people.
“Hon Sade should refrain from talking about PG 2023 and start settling the ongoing land issues in the Guadalcanal,” he said.
He said what Hon Sade should talk about are the town boundaries.
“People living in Honiara need to know the land boundaries between Guadalcanal and Honiara City.”
He added that Premier Sade should talk about, address and solve the issues of alienated land that people started to occupy with corruption and without the consent of the people of Guadalcanal.
“The lands in Belaga, Ghaobata, Tasiboko, Aola and Paripao need to be resolved by the government with the people of Guadalcanal,” he said.
These are long and overdue issues that Hon Sade needs to talk about and address, he added.
He also wishes to inform the Premier that these land issues are not yet solved and it is like a slap on the face of Guadalcanal people.
He further added that Hon Sade needs to talk about the life of Parliament from 4 to 5 years that the DCGA government is planning to carry forward.
“As a Guadalcanal man, I need a clear explanation for these land issues. We survive and use our land for development so we need a solution to our problem,” he said.
