DEAR EDITOR – That terrible killer that originates from Wahun city in China known as the coronavirus has been killing the people of the first world till now for the past months and it is aggressively spreading from one continent to another and from country to the country taking thousands of lives from the very advanced world despite their medical advancement.
Sir, it’s gonna be the very sad and chaotic time for us the third world country such as Solomon Islands if that killer, the son of Mrs. Solomon’s 02 [China] by the name of Covid-19 set foot on our very little shore then it’s gonna be terribly terrible!!
However, the National Referral Hospital is on high alert to handle any person that might be hit by that killer as it has been stated by one of our local senior doctors.
Unfortunately, despite the high alert and the preparedness of our local nurses and doctors it seemed that their preparation is not enough in terms of medical facilities and other appropriate equipment.
For example, some suspected cases were being assessed, and have to be sent to Australia and we have to wait for a day or more for its confirmation weather it might be positive or negative.
This case is the health global issue, and therefore I would like to put this health quote here: ”prevention is better than cure”.
As one of the concerned young men, I am certain that the best medicine to cure such deadly pandemic is: PREVENTION
I, therefore, call on the government and the responsible authorities to take deep consideration of bounding the International fights as it is the only possible way for that killer to start taking lives in this little Solomon Islands. Once more ” PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE”.
