Professor Transform Aqorau has been reappointed as the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) Vice-Chancellor for a second term.
Professor Aqorau’s reappointment follows a rigorous, transparent, and comprehensive recruitment process conducted by a Council-sanctioned Selection Committee and formally approved by the University Council.
Highlights of the process included:
• Open advertisement calling for expressions of interest
• Thorough due diligence and reference checks
• Structured interviews and candidate assessments
• Presentation of SINU’s 2026 Strategic Plan and vision
• Formal recommendation by the Selection Committee and Council approval
At its meeting on 10 February 2026, the Council endorsed the recommendation and appointed Professor Aqorau for a second five-year term pursuant to Section 28 of the SINU Act (No. 9 of 2012).
Professor Aqorau expressed his gratitude for the confidence placed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening governance, advancing academic excellence, expanding partnerships, and supporting national development.
