The case of a man accused of raping a woman at Renbell Province last year will return to the court again on May 2.
This is for the accused to enter his plea to the charge of one count of rape against him.
A committal hearing will followed thereafter.
He appeared in court on Thursday but his lawyer informed the court that they need time before he entered his plea.
Public Solicitor’s lawyer Clifton Ruele who represented the accused sought a seven-day adjournment.
When asked by the presiding magistrate on the status of investigations into the matter, Public Prosecutor Willy Vaiyu said investigation was now completed.
Principal Magistrate Augustine Aulanga then adjourned the matter and further remanded the accused in custody.
The accused who cannot be named to protect the identity of the alleged victim because they were distant relatives allegedly raped the alleged victim on the evening of 20 September 2015.
He allegedly raped the alleged victim after they were drinking with others that evening at a village in Renbell.
Public Prosecutor Willy Vaiyu represented the Crown in this matter.
