The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has officially farewelled two Australian Federal Police (AFP) advisors in Honiara recently.
The two advisors are Mark Weber and Cayden Noble Kendall, who work under the Royal Solomon Island Police Force and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).
Advisor Mark Weber has been in an advisory role for the National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) and International Affairs Department over the past four years, first arriving in the Solomon Islands in 2021. During this time, he has also supported a number of major operations, including Pacific Game 2023 and National joint National General Election 2024.
Advisor Cayden Noble-Kendall has been performing an advisory role with the National Traffic Department, Guadalcanal Police, and Honiara City Police for the past five months. He has supported a broad range of RSIPF disciplines, including crime, frontline, traffic, and Guadalcanal police. He also supports NCID and police prosecution.
Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Crime and Intelligence Ms. Patricia Leta, during a farewell ceremony, expressed deep gratitude to both advisors for their incredible contributions, particularly in the area of capacity development within the RSIPF.
Ms. Leta stated, “I want to sincerely thank both of you for the incredible impact you have had not only on NCID but also on our frontline operations.” Your guidance and commitment have greatly contributed to the professional growth of our officers and the strengthening of our systems.
The RSIPF acknowledges and appreciates the continued support and partnership with AFP, which plays a critical role in enhancing policing capabilities.
In their farewell remarks, both advisors expressed gratitude for the opportunities they received during their time with the RSIPF, describing the experience as rewarding and fulfilling.
RSIPF presented each advisor with a certificate of appreciation and gifts. Advisor Weber was also presented with the Solomon Islands Police operational medal.
