OFFICERS of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and RSIPF & AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) members visited several communities throughout July to strengthen relationships and promote public safety.
Recently, Naha Police and RAPPP teams were invited to share their community and crime prevention program with the Gilbert Camp community.
Superintendent Leslie Kili and Inspector Roy Sade of Naha police station, along with other local RSIPF officers, attended the Gilbert Camp event.
White River Police and RAPPP also visited the Rifle Range community at the request of local leaders. This visit was well supported by the RSIPF’s White River Community Team.
These events focused on discussions around crime prevention strategies, emerging crime trends, and addressing specific concerns raised by residents.

Officers also raised awareness about the upcoming Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders Meeting scheduled for September, helping communities prepare for increased security and visitors in Honiara.
The program, designed by RAPPP’s Health, Wellbeing & Community Engagement team, aims to build respectful and collaborative relationships between police and the communities they serve.
Events include sporting activities such as volleyball, football, rugby, and tug-of-war for both children and adults. These are followed by a community BBQ and gifting of items such as hats, shirts, baskets, sports gear, and other merchandise.
Now in its second year, the RAPPP community engagement and crime prevention program is being replicated due to its success in building trust and cooperation.
Superintendent Kili emphasized the importance of community dialogue, saying, “I and my officers are here to listen to the communities so we can better serve their needs.”
AFP Advisor Kevin Shaw added, “The success of these events comes from the willingness and collaboration of like-minded leaders within these communities and RSIPF.”
