The RSIPF Fire and Rescue Service has received new information and communications technology (ICT) equipment through a donation from the RSIPF and AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), enhancing its ability to deliver modern, high-quality training and operational support.
The equipment package includes a laptop computer, projector and colour laser printer, which will support training delivery, administrative functions and frontline operational requirements.
The laptop will assist instructors to prepare training materials, deliver classroom presentations, and support both theory‑based and practical lessons. Its portability will also enable officers to complete reports and gather statements on site during fire investigations.
The projector will enhance the delivery of visual training content, allowing clearer and more engaging presentations during theory sessions.
The colour laser printer will support the production of training records, certificates and essential operational documents required for daily Fire and Rescue Service activities.
Welcoming the donation, RSIPF Fire and Rescue Service Director (Supervising) Mr James Ketaru said the equipment would significantly strengthen the Service’s training capability and support the continued development of Fire and Rescue personnel as they work to protect communities across the Solomon Islands.
Assistant Commissioner National Operations and Policing (AC NO) Mr Francis Ramoni said, “This ICT handover strengthens RSIPF’s operational capacity and supports our officers in carrying out their duties more effectively. Reliable technology is essential to modern policing, and this support enhances our overall service delivery. We sincerely thank RAPPP for their valued partnership.”
AFP Superintendent David Williams said Australia is proud, as a bilateral security partner, to support the Fire and Rescue Service’s training and investigative capabilities through funding provided under AFP Partnership Programs and the Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation. Through its advisor network, RAPPP continues to assist the RSIPF to build a sustainable and resilient emergency response workforce.
