Dear Editor – Allow me space to briefly comment on statements made by Jonathan Tohuika in the Solomon Star issue 09/05/2015 in relation to the Bintang Borneo mining operation in ward three (3) Central West Rennell and also his brave accusation of Anthony Tamaika.
Land owners of Labagu Village that involved in the mining operation humbly requested the Ministry of Mines to reinstate the export permit given to Bintang Borneo to ship out the bauxite materials overseas rather than wasting them.
The decision to mine West Rennell, especially ward three was entirely that of landowners not you Tohuika or your associates.
This is how small Jonathan Tohuika is.You should think before you speak. Get your facts right before publish and most importantly, recognize your limit.
Who gave you the right to comment on issues that does not concern you?
I don’t know who Tohuika represent in West Rennell? How did he came to be the chairman of West Rennell Landowners Association? The Association must be a joke.
Onething that is not fair about democracy and freedom of communication is to have the likes of Jonathan Tohuika taking advantage of the situation to be more critical on issues that he should not discuss particularly logging and mining on West Rennell.
I think it is best and proper for Tohuika to concentrate on what is concerning him and stop pointing fingers on others.
