THE Government through the Ministry of Health is finalizing recommendations to resume classes nation-wide.
This was revealed by the Secretary to Prime Minister (SPM) and Chairman of the National Oversight Committee (NOC) Dr Jimmie Rodgers during Sunday’s weekly talk-back show.
“Ministry of Health is finalizing recommendation process to recommence schools and the conditions that may apply in when classes resume.
“A paper has been submitted to Cabinet for consideration,” he said.
Most schools nation-wide are still to start.
The 2022 academic year was supposed to commence on Monday 24th January 2020.
However, on Wednesday 19th January, Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare declared a lockdown in Honiara and imposed border closures which denied movement between Honiara and the provinces.
This denied many teachers and students from traveling to their schools.
