LIVE & Learn organisation based in Honiara is set to kick off the RED CADIM VAELENS project in Malaita province by educating rural people there about violence issues.
Two officers from the organisation have traveled to the province to carry out assessment on the level of people’s understanding on violence and 16 days of activism against violence against women and girls.
Project manager Golden Kiloko told the Solomon Star yesterday the officers have visited football clubs in Auki that have signed up to carry out the campaign.
“Our visit to Malaita is to meet with these three football clubs namely; Ambu, GB and Auki Tigers to encourage them to move on with the campaign,” Mr. Kiloko said.
He added that they urged those clubs to be leaders to carry out this project smoothly in Malaita province.
Mr Kiloko said that during the visitation they have made some awareness talks with rural people and club members to get their feedback from them so that they can carry out the campaign effectively in Malaita province.
He added they have finished off the visitation yesterday.
AusAid is also supporting the event.
The project was launched last month in Honiara.
