THE regional eye care centre built at the National Referral Hospital grounds is making progress and is expected to complete soon.
The building is in its final phase of completion.
Acting Chief executive officer (CEO) of the National Referral Hospital, Dr Rodger Maraka said the building is nearing its completion.
“Most of the external work has been done. Concentration is now on electrical wiring,” Dr Maraka said.
He said all equipments in the old eye clinic will be shift to the new building before it is officially opened.
Mr Maraka said the $3.8 million New Zealand funded facility, which was expected to be completed in three months’ time, will be an eye care centre for the Pacific region.
He said the eye clinic is expected to open at the end of April this year.
