A REHEARSAL in preparation for the 2rd Artificial Islands &Shell Money Festival 2015 was conducted at the Busu Homestay Tourist Resort in Langa Langa Lagoon, Malaita province on Sunday.
The main high light of the rehearsal was the demonstration of the various shell money products, how to produce it, bridal gift presentation ceremony, traditional food preparation, traditional fire making and custom queen show contest and few other traditional practices.
Entertainment was also highlighted which included the dancers from Mao, Afai, Odo D, Sanga and Gala dancers.
The rehearsal program was held from 3pm to 6pm in Busu tourism cultural Centre Langa Langa lagoon.
Chairman of the Busu Tourism Cultural Center Thomas Daikeru Batasi said, they are well prepared for this upcoming 2nd Artificial Islands & Money Festival 2015.
Officials from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau (SIVB) are expected to attend the event. Both organizations are funding the festival.
Travel writers from overseas and Malaita provincial government officials are also expected to be part of the event.
Hundreds of people around the Lagoon will also be participating in the event.
The two days event is confirmed for Thursday and Friday.
